Medical Home Care Professionals was established in 1985 by our founder/owner/CEO Kathy McKillop who is a nurse by trade. Her passion to care for patients at home came from her days in the hospital caring for patients and realized that people do so much better when they can be cared for at home. She cared for a patient in the hospital who had ALS and was young and she helped her get home and Kathy was able to recruit other nurses to help her care for the patient so she didn’t have to be in the hospital and could have a better life at home. From this one patient that she treated and cared for at home came the idea to treat other patients at home for after-care from injury, surgery, and many other diagnoses.
From this vision we began on a mission ever since, hiring and training only the best licensed and registered nurses, LVN’s, HHA’s, and more. Our team is specialized in providing you the care you need from the privacy and comfort of your own home. Whether it’s IV treatment, bandage and wound care, diabetic education and treatment, pain management, post-surgery recovery, COPD management and education, pediatric care and management, speech, physical, and occupational therapy, to even basic house chores and companionship. You could say that we have you covered to lighten the load as much as possible.
After your doctor visit, we will talk with you about your needs to prescribe to you exactly what you need. Our extensive medical background helps and you on the road to recovery and works with your physician. Once needs are determined, we will work with your insurance provider so as to get you the help you need—as fast as you need. We currently accept Medicare or Medicaid.
Once we know what medical attention you need and work with your insurance, you’re all set! We will then determine the frequency you’d like one of our compassionate aides to assist you or your loved one. This is not something any of us take lightly.
