Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy

Medical Home Care Professionals was established in 1985 by our founder/owner/CEO Kathy McKillop who is a nurse by trade. Her passion to care for patients at home came from her days in the hospital caring for patients and realized that people do so much better when they can be cared for at home.

We have been serving Shasta County for over 35 years with one thing in mind: to get your life back by bringing professional medical care to the comfort of your home. Some of these ways we accomplish this is through assigning you caring physical, occupational, and speech therapists to help you recover. So what is the difference between the three?

Physical Therapist

A physical therapist is someone who is trained and licensed to evaluate your physical needs in regards to limitations in functional mobility. Physical therapy has been shown to aid in your recovery time, lasting mobility, and sustained healing. Our physical therapists are trained to review your needs and help you recover maximum functional mobility.

Occupational Therapist

Our occupational therapists are licensed and trained by the state to be able to meet you in your place of employment or home, observe and assess your mobility and task restrictions, and devise a plan/provide implementation to make those tasks less painful and easier on you. Our OT’s work with people of all ages, and can provide therapy to improve motor functions and identify areas of adjustment.

Speech Therapist

Our wonderful speech therapists are trained to identify problem areas regarding speech, communication, and swallowing. Our speech therapists are trained to help those with language and cognitive impairments and provide the appropriate care to improve these areas. Sometimes these conditions arise as a result of an illness or accident. Our speech therapists will provide you with the attentive and specific care you need. This care can be for people of all ages.

While all three of these areas of therapy are much more in-depth, this brief overview can help point you in the right direction when needing assistance. One of our staff would love to answer any questions you may have regarding these services.

Today, Medical Home Care Professionals are one of the largest locally owned and operated agencies in Shasta County and have clinical teams of nurses, therapists, social service workers, Aides, and caregivers that are dedicated to providing our patients/clients with, respect, dignity, and quality care to guarantee a positive experience while healing at home.
