When It’s Time To Consider Hiring Home Help

Medical Home Care Professionals have been helping those in Shasta County who have needed a little extra help for the past 36+ years. Whether it’s basic meal prepping and light housekeeping, injury and/or procedure recovery—we know everyone needs a little help from time to time. In this post, we are going to discuss some indicators for when it may be time to start considering hiring a home health aide.

As with the natural process of aging, you could start seeing changes physically and mentally as time goes on. Some people opt to get the care needed by placing them in a home to receive the extra time and attention that they need. Others, however, may need some help at home to assist that not only your loved one is taken care of, but help that enables everyone to be able to function in a happy, healthy lifestyle. If you are considering hiring some help for the home but are unsure, here are some signs that it may be time:

  • If your loved one is needing more attention than you have the time to give, it may be time to start this conversation. Having some extra help around the house can be a wonderful use of a home health aide. Our team can manage this for as much or as little time as needed.
  • Should your loved one need greater medical attention, having access to professional home nursing care is an absolute must. Our team is highly skilled and trained with all the proper licensing to make sure your loved one gets the more advanced care they need.
  • Loved ones who are 65+ who have had a procedure done, need bed rest, or suffering from chronic illness are especially prone to nutrition complications. Nutritional needs for these settings are needed at a higher level so as to keep your loved on receiving all the proper nutrition to minimize loss of body mass and recover well. This is something to consider if your loved one has/is experienced any of these events.
  • Is your loved one needing more and more prescriptions? This may be a good time to hire one of our team who performs with precision medication management and administration. Knowing when, for how many times, and with what of each medication can be overwhelming. Hiring a home health professional would be a very good idea to make sure your loved one is receiving all their proper medications.

There is a myriad of many other reasons that it may be time to consider hiring one of our staff here at Medical Home Care Professionals. If you begin to notice things like loss of personal hygiene, routine tasks being missed, house cleanliness—these are such examples that you can look out for (and more) to know when it may be time to get some extra help.
